Verdyol Product Design. Mulch bag designs for Verdyol Plant Research Inc, featuring four different variations for their entire product line.

This product design had some special considerations that needed to be considering during the design process. A fluid design that would look good when the bags were stacked in alternating orientations on the pallet. Also, it was a necessity to have a similar design with a strong contrast in color to differentiate between the different products.

Including custom vector illustrations and typography, the final result was a fresh take on their products, and really helps build their corporate identity through their products.

ESCN Media Kit. An eight page media kit, highlighting their integrated marketing solutions. The printed media kit also has a companion video explanation and overview that integrates graphics and type from the printed media kit.

Initial designs were composed in InDesign, and then transferred for final graphic touch ups and styling in Photoshop. This was so the work flow between the print and video production remained seamless, and did not run into any errors by trying to gather images and content through InDesign into Final Cut Pro.

Proofing and editing played major roles in this project, and the challenge was to simplify the complex concepts into easy to follow, easy to understand visual graphs and charts. This was achieve through labeling screen shots of the solutions, and having brief overviews of each depicted service.

Alliance Business Cards. Personlized business cards for Alliance Tree Care, featuring corporate colors and logos.

An elegant design was required for this project, and multiple proofs were created until the finished product resulted in a clear and legible design. Sutle gradients and effective use of sans-serifs and font-weights created the clean and modern look that seperates itself from regular stock business cards.

South Bank Travel Brochure. A full color, two sided travel brochure created to feature London’s magnificent scenery and attractions.

Challenges for this project revolved around creating an inviting layout and color scheme, while having well structured typography for easy readability.

Design considerations were taken into place, such as designating important eye catching graphics above the fold, so it maintains the same visual impact even when covered up by other brochures or shelves / racks.

Epson magazine ad redesign. Focusing on switching the primary element of design, this ad was redesigned from vector art, to a highly textured ad.

Using Photoshop as the main tool on recreating the graphic impact for this ad, rich textures such as the cloth couch and polished stone wall were put in place to highlight the luxury and quality of the Epson projector.

Typography needed to be clean and concise, with emphasis on the key features of the projector. Effective color use tied the ad together, and gave a clear focal point to both the typography and imagery.

Alliance Tree Care Yellow Pages full color ad. A unique half-page ad for Alliance Tree Care was created to stand out from the crowd, and highlight the quality and professionalism of the company.

This project was a great challenge, and the challenge was to incorporate enough information without sacrificing the professional look and design. Clean corporate colors and typography were implemented in the ad, as well as a retouched photo showcasing one of their local arborists.

The final result created an ad that stood out from the crowded Yellow Pages, and was even adapted for a smaller ad in subsequent pages. Compliment White Pages ads were also created, and appear on every 6th and 7th page in the beginning section.

W.K. Chan ad redesign. A remake of a small, one color newspaper advertisement, converted into a full color, full page feature.

Retracing the W.K. Chan logo and Consumer’s Choice Award were done in Illustrator CS3, while high-quality images were touched up and compressed in Photoshop to be finally assembled in InDesign.
